Sunstate Airlines Reviews-Alan Joyce
Alan Joyce

In 1975, with a Britten-Norman Islander flying from Maryborough to Brisbane by Noosa Air. The owner of Noosa Air’s parent company, Whitaker Pty. Ltd came up with an idea of establishing a second airline which will cater services in Queensland. Mr. Bevan Whitaker established Sunstate Airlines in December 1981 which was vacated by Trans Australia Airlines (TAA) with an Embraer EMB 110. By the end of 1983, Sunstate Airlines merged with Noosa Air and in 1986, the airline purchased a share in Murray-Valley Airlines (MVA).

In 2001, Sunstate Airlines together with Southern Australia and its airline networks, were rebranded to QantasLink, though each entity retained a certain amount of independence. Now, Sunstate Airlines has total fleet size of 31 Bombardier Dash 8 serving 23 destinations from Brisbane, Cairns, and Townsville and in alliance with Oneworld.

Since Sunstate Airlines is a subsidiary of Qantas, the airline is led by their CEO, Mr. Alan Joyce. He is a 49 year old Irish born businessman and was even acknowledged as the most influential business leader in 2011. Joyce is an Ambassador of the Indigenous Education Foundation. Just so you know, he is openly gay and once had prostate cancer but was successfully treated.

InFlight and Website Services
Sunstate Airlines Reviews-mealsSunstate Airlines was one of the asset of the company to be the largest regional airline. Since the airline is operated with all DHC-8 or modernized known now as Bombardier Dash 8, the aircraft can carry over 78 passengers on board. Safety instructions are provided on board for safety precautions. Complimentary snacks and beverages are also given as part of the paid regional airfare, apart from that, three-course meals are offered.

Their official website was nicely designed with the features that let customer search and book for flights by entering their prefered destination. But they also offer services with hotel reservations, car rentals, inspiring activities and other transport services. With the official site, travelers can manage their booking or check-in online.

Sunstate Airlines Reviews of Passengers
However, based on several Sunstate Airlines reviews, the regional charter airline doesn’t seem have their passengers united with their feedbacks. There are also few Sunstate Airlines reviews to be found, 1 on ProductReview.com and 5 on AirLikes.com. Let me share at least one of those reviews:

“Friendly airline with people who care. Similar to how flying was 20 years ago, love those Hosties, they are a real asset!” he gave the airline a 5/5 score rating, however this was backdated in January 2012.

In The End
What can I say about Sunstate Airlines? Well, they might be just a regional airline that operates under Qantas but they had kept a good reputation. That’s why together with other Sunstate Airlines reviews, I will recommend the airline for your domestic destination throughout Queensland.
