Low-cost Kyrgyzstan airline Air Manas was founded and established in 2006, with Pegasus Airlines as their current parent company. Air Manas traces its roots to its foundation in Bishkek, where the airline is headquartered, and to their first flight in December 2009. In June 2012, Turkish Pegasus Airlines purchased 49% of Air Manas, creating the brand name Pegasus Asia which flew its first flight from Bishkek to Istanbul on March 22, 2013.

There were positive and negative Air Manas reviews, some of which wrote, “Routine shuttle service. Got us there and back safely. Transfer buses were very crowded. The flight was full and the buses with luggage was tightly packed,” while another said, “1hey and 10 mkn to board inside a super hot aircraft. Then, they lost our luggage on a direct flight from Calgary to vancouver. Did not have any type of information to give us and employee seemed not aware of what to do. Still not able to get on hold with their customer service.”

The Air Manas flight experience ranged from uncomfortable and unpleasant to fast and convenient. However, Air Manas reviews express their favour for the airline that had better services than expected for certain kinds of flights, and which had excellent cabin crew onboard despite the lack of other airplane amenities.
