Thanks to these new travel startups, life has been easier yet confusing too. Some new online travel agencies have new interesting ideas, some are useless to be honest. The American-based travel site is one of the new travel startups who recently had been established yet acquired a lot of recognition. Since the privately held travel company was founded in 2012, FlightCar had been one of the most used car rental sites next to Avis, Hertz and Travelzoo.
What is FlightCar?
Basically, as mentioned above, FlightCar helps travellers to have their own means of transportation once they get to a certain destination. But vehicles used in this business are personal cars of car-owners like you. You can guarantee that the vehicle in service is well maintained. How it works? There are two services offered on FlightCar: As a Visitor and As an Owner.
As a Visitor – customers just have to search for their airport destination first then from there, select from the list of cars shown or available on FlightCar. From then, customers can enjoy driving around with the booked car. Once customer is done or about to go home, they just have to return the car to the FlightCar center located at their airport.
As an Owner – customers just have to list their car first on FlightCar. Once done, leave their personal car to the airport’s FlightCar station. From there, FlightCar will assist the car-owner with a shuttle ride to their flight. Once the customer gets home from the vacation trip, they just have to return to the same FlightCar station and they will have their car back clean in and out.
Good thing about FlightCar as an owner, you get to travel somewhere, while FlightCar makes money for you.

But for some reason, given the unique car renting idea at the airport and unconscious investment, some consumers are just not happy about FlightCar. After reading 75 FlightCar reviews, the car rental company was not actually one of the best, yet the worst company ever. Well, we can’t blame them for what they personally experienced. Did you know that FlightCar was the first company to establish a marketplace that allows vehicle owners parking at the airport to rent out their cars to other travelers and was even recognized as “2013 America’s Coolest College Startup”. Since the car rental site was founded by three college students namely Shri Ganeshram, Rujul Zaparde and Kevin Petrovic. Everything rooted from the saying “Only your true friends will drive you to the airport.”
