Air Tahiti Nui Reviews

Air Tahiti Nui is actually a French airline which was founded in 1996 but commenced operations in 1998. The aim of the airline’s creation is to develop their inbound tourism and to operate air service internationally. Air Tahiti Nui was actually the first international airline based in Papeete, Tahiti. The ownership is majorly owned by the government of French Polynesia with 84.4%, while the remaining percentage are with the local investors.
Air Tahiti Nui Reviews-aircraft
The 5 aircraft fleet of Air Tahiti Nui operates at Faa’a International Airport which cater flights from French Polynesia to four other countries (New Zealand, United States, France and Japan). Last year, the airline had announced their intention to change their all Airbus fleet to all Boeing aircraft.

InFlight with Air Tahiti Nui
The airline has two cabin classes on board: Moana Economy Class and Poerava Business Class.

Air Tahiti Nui Reviews-EconomyMoana Economy Class – the colorful amenity pillow is noticeable upon boarding this cabin class. Decorated with the island’s flowers and inspired with the lagoon, ocean and cloudless sky. The 2-4-2 seat configuration also provides enough legroom space and pitch of  32 inches and recline to 118 degrees. The seat-back 9 inch HD inflight entertainment is loaded with movies, TV shows, music, videogames and more.

Air Tahiti Nui Reviews-Business ClassPoerava Business Class – as expected from airlines. Business Class will make an advantage over the economy class. Upon boarding, the traditional way of welcoming tourists is done in this cabin class. Like on Hawaii, customers are greeted with a garland necklace called Lei. But in Air Tahiti Nui, passengers are greeted with a garland necklace of Tiare. The roomy and well-appointed seats in couple-friendly pairs are arranged with a 2-2-2 seat configuration. A hook for handbags and storage compartments is also within the passengers reach but won’t affect the space in between. The inflight entertainment in Business Class is at 12 inch HD.

Since the origin of the airline is based in French Polynesia, cuisines are varied from international dishes or an option from Polynesian and French culinary influences.

Official Website
The website looks as pleasing as the country itself. The modernized official page gives travellers a welcoming mood. Plus the picturesque and awe-inspiring flashing images of Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora add up to the overall appearance of the site. This has always been compared to Alaska Airlines since they are both island top destinations with iconic beaches and resorts. Speaking of destinations, the page also shows the flight route map of the Tahitian airline.

Moving forward, the services online offer travellers the option to search and book for flights, hotel reservations and car rental services. It also gives information regarding the airline’s policies, inflight services and their frequent-flyer program, Club Tiare wherein customers earn miles as a member of the club and can use these as points to redeem from airline and non-airline partners awards and discounts. To learn more about this program, click here.

However, Air Tahiti Nui doesn’t have a mobile app yet, but they are looking forward with these extended services via smartphone in the future.

Air Tahiti Nui Reviews of Customers
The French airline garnered average score rating from the trusted commenting site, Skytrax. The score was based on 71 Air Tahiti Nui reviews of passengers. However, to put it in a neutral way, the airline had several and mixed reviews from its consumers. One recent reviewer even mentioned:

“The plane was clean and very comfortable. I agree with a previous reviewer that when extended the seats were somewhat awkward to sleep. But I managed. The dinner they served at midnight was perfect as it was a cold chicken salad and light.”

Air Tahiti Nui Reviews-much wowConclusion
I almost lost words in this review, since the airline is really one of the best, given the location of the country, somehow isolated. Maybe because Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora are one of top destinations in the world. This somehow attracts more tourists to fly and visit French Polynesia and it is true that Air Tahiti Nui had made sure they will receive the exclusive and traditional way of welcoming and accommodating their customers.
