Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.

In this review, we will be re-talking about Skyscanner.

Skyscanner Reviews 2016
The travel search engine actually started from a frustration of a traveler to look for budget flights and travel accommodation online. In 2001, Skyscanner was founded by Gareth Williams and some two friends (Barry Smith and Bonamy Grimes). Now, the travel site is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. The founder of Skyscanner is still the current CEO of the company and with the help of his 14 years of experience as a developer for financial institutions and retail companies led Skyscanner to be one of the top digital travel companies in the world.

Skyscanner has global offices in UK, Singapore, Beijing, Shenzhen, Miami and Barcelona

How does Skyscanner work?
Well, basically we are not fond of Skyscanner, since there’s actually no sense of their existence. The site just lets travellers to search for preferred flight, hotel reservation and car rental services from hundred of airlines and leading online travel agencies in a few seconds. The good news is, yes they are quick. The bad news is, they are not responsible for any booking. How so? They just actually help customers to search and once travellers have a selection they will be redirected to the site where the offer was originally from.

Another way to use Skyscanner is by their mobile app wherein customer can access similar services on a smartphone device. The travel app is available on both iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.

If you haven’t heard of “Cybersquatting” then you should actually hear me out.

Skyscanner Reviews 2016 from Consumers
Nothing had actually changed since the last time we wrote about Skyscanner, if recalled last year the site had a very poor rating from Trustpilot. But this year, another commenting site had scored them low for their services. Wherein based from 16 Skyscanner reviews 2016, the travel search engine is a time waster and they even included the mobile app version of Skyscanner as a disaster. How To Reach Them?
complaint
Unfortunately, for some reason the only way to reach Skyscanner is through their Help Centrewherein customers have to type in a keyword of their concern and a list of questions and FAQs will appear, these are categorized to flights, hotel and car hire services. Since Skyscanner doesn’t make the actual booking, it doesn’t have a direct number or a contact email travelers can reach to. The only contact from consumers they accommodate are comments and feedback. So basically, if something goes wrong with someone’s selected booking source from Skyscanner’s cybersquatting, they don’t hold any responsibility for any misplacement.

Overview
It’s been a year and Skyscanner hasn’t at least changed anything. This is an obvious sign of a bad business. So if you are planning to use Skyscanner, it is evidently just a waste of your time. We advise you to go directly to the main page of trusted travel sites such as Flighthub.com, Travelocity.com, JustFly.com or Expedia.com. There’s no harm in discovering new sites, just make sure to do a research before booking.
